Canadians beat Rebels for 26th Win of the Season

The Ottawa Jr. Canadians Got their 26th Win of the Season on Saturday evening.

Still sat in 4th place, the Ottawa Jr. Canadians traveled down to Char-Lan for a Saturday night
matchup against the 13th-place Rebels. Ottawa cruised to a victory by a score of
4-1.

In the first period, Loui Alfredsson (1G) and Reid Greer (1G) found the back of the
net to open the scoring. Midway through the second period, Mike Fournier made it a
one-goal game but Luke Going (1G) had an answer on the powerplay with less than two
minutes left to make it 3-1 heading into the final twenty minutes. Daniel Kyte (1G) got
his twentieth of the season, the lone goal in the third making it a 4-1 score.

In net, Joshua Hawken stood strong stopping 15 of 16 shots and earning the win. Justin
Flamini (1A), Joshua Weekes (1A), Liam Hunter (1A), Mateo Mongeon (1A), Giovanni
Utano (1A), Jack Chiarello (1A), and Conor Contois (2A) also found their way onto the
scoresheet.

The #24 in white, Luke “Go-Go” Going was your OJC Player of the game, with his goal in the second putting the game to bed. Mike Fournier (1G) earned the third star for Char-Lan. Joshua Hawken took the second star and Conor Contois was the first star of the evening as these two teams met for the last time this regular season.

The Ottawa Jr. Canadians (26-13-0-1) are back in action on Tuesday night at the Earl
Armstrong Arena for a 7:20 PM puck drop. They will be taking on a cross-town rival, the
Ottawa West Golden Knights (30-6-0-1).
