Canadians drop last game of Regular Season

The Jr. Canadians hit the road for the final regular season game where they took on the
Renfrew Timberwolves. Despite a tough-fought battle, the Canadians dropped this one by a
score of 4-0.

The Timberwolves got out to a very hot start scoring three goals in the first half of the first
period. They tallied 15 total shots against Ottawa’s 10. The second period picked up in
physicality for both squads where they totalled 22 total penalty minutes but there were no
goals scored keeping it 3-0 heading into the third. Joshua Lalande (1G) tallied the fourth
and final goal for Renfrew at the 11:04 mark on the powerplay.

Between the pipes, Joshua Hawken made 36 saves on 40 shots despite taking the loss. On
On the opposite end, Braxton Bennett earned the shutout stopping 33 shots from the Jr.
Canadians.

The Ottawa Jr. Canadians (27-16-0-1) will finish the season third place in the Martin Division
and will play the Char-Lan Rebels (9-27-5-1) in the first round of the Barkley Cup Playoffs.
The schedule for the series has yet to be released.
